This site has been set up to detail the construction of two model boats.
They are the Perkasa Class Gas Turbine Fast Patrol Boat, as built by Vosper in 1967.
This is the first model boat built by myself, and the second built by my friend, Kevin Lachlan. We choose the Perkasa for a number of reasons, including:

Speed (of the boat)
Clean, beautiful lines
Naval role
Simplicity of construction

The size of the models we are building is approximately 1680mm long, 480mm wide. This gives us plenty of room to work within the boat and makes it easier to produce fine detail. It works out to a scale of approximately 1:18. It has the added advantage of being able to run on surfaces that would swamp most other model boats.
